Terri asked:

I would like to find romance novels that take place in Russia before the Revolution of 1917. I’ve read the classics such as Dr Zhivago, Anne Karin, and Onegin but I want to read something more recent and of a more romantic nature, rather than classic novels.

I know everyone says Shakespeare, but who else?

I have read a few pages of Catch-22 and found it to be horridly tough but I think it gets easier, does it?

Well what is the hardest thing you have read but got through and liked?

I am an adult learning French and I am practicing by reading children’s books, at the age 9-12 level. I would appreciate if some native French speakers could tell me what the literary classics are considered to be for that age group (like Little House on the Prairie or Johnie Tremain in English.) I am getting tired of stories about magic and ponies!

Difficulty is not an issue (sometimes I read Shakespeare just for fun), but recently I’ve really been in the mood for a beautiful, classic story that everybody loves, but won’t require too much, well, thinking lol. So far I’m considering Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie and The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. I guess I’m in a bit of a British literature mood. Any suggestions?
